Funny story. 'The Joke's On You' is included on a compilation with a number of tracks by other bands. Anyway, we sent it in and it got selected because the people over there thought it was pretty cool. So together with the video we got to shoot for this song for free (subsidized), you'd say that's a pretty sweet deal, yeah? Free promo, free video, plugging in a nationwide network of bookers and promoters. Alass. The sound engineer somehow messed up the mastering which means our originally pretty cool song now sounds like it was done by complete & utter...well, let's just say that it does not sound very good, both on the cd and the accompanying dvd.

Anyway, the irony of this story is that the people whose job it is to take care of this kind of project (which is basically a great idea) are just a tad out of touch with the artists they are trying to help out which sometimes, in some cases, can cause them to do more wrong than right. But hey, thanks anyway, we really do appreciate the good intentions.

So that is why we're posting our version here; so you can hear it the way it's supposed to be. We hope you enjoy it despite our endless and exhausting nagging about all this stuff that is only tangentially connected to it and does not have even the slightest thing to do with you as a listener, so why are you even still reading this?

PS: If you want to see the video that goes with this track, you'll have to convince us with solid arguments since we don't really like that one either.
